Music

My friend FFB (I can never remember what that stands for) brought me 3 burned cds today. I’m listening to the first cd and it makes me smile. I smile because I’m surprised by what she put on the cd and because some of the music brings back awesome memories. I’ve always thought life should be like a musical, preferably Bollywood (notice Sayid from Lost in this clip). People should sing out their frustrations, joys, and sorrows and then the world should end happily ever after. Or hopefully ever after.

When I was in high school I used to associate songs and people to certain songs. I had a friend who thought she was pretty hot stuff and so her song was Heartbreaker by Pat Benatar. Another friend was Killer Queen by Queen because she was a bit oblivious when it came to the world and did and said things that would blow my mind.

My brother Homie G. is the old Herbal Essence song. One summer he worked the night shift with my dad. He would take a shower in the morning then burst into my room while I was sleeping and would say “I have the urge to Herbal!” in a high pitch voice. This brother is a big black guy so that is pretty funny. Little brother is Men in Black by Will Smith. He loves Will Smith and when he was a little boy he wanted to know when he would grow up and be big and black like Homie G (this brother is white). We told him it would happen when he got older. Hope he figured out that won’t happen (maybe it is time for a heart to heart).

After listen to music I now have a song for FFB. Sisters are doing it for themselves from the second musical episode of Xena Warrior Princess. Don’t make fun of this show I love it!!! I believe the original song is by Eurythmics, but I like the Xena version better.
