No power

This morning the power went out in many neighborhoods in my part of town. I woke up to city workers yelling or talking loudly in the alley behind my house. I had to get dressed in the dark. Not for the first time, it has been brought to my attention how unprepared I am in the case of natural or man-made disaster. I had to hunt down matches, barely missing a wall or two, then had to hunt down scented candles. Very sad. Fortunately, I found a handy dandy disaster readiness list online. Perhaps with this I can be ready next time.

  1. I was wondering as I drove through town this morning. Traffic lights were flashing. Amazingly, we didn’t lose power during this storm. Did lose a dog to the underside of the bed.

And I lived a year without a flashlight and the candles weren’t very handy either. At least now I have a flashlight and know where it is.
