Random things that came to me while driving:

I’m suspicious of people with “Free Tibet” bumper stickers. Do they know from whom Tibet should be freed? If I gave them a map of the world, could they point out China, let alone Tibet? I’d say more than 50% couldn’t.
I have never been tailgating or seen a college football game. After helping work the spring football scrimmage I know I never will go tailgating or see a college football game.
Why do people record themselves doing criminal acts? Do they know think that a film of them on youtube.com beating up someone won’t get them in trouble? It makes the lies that parents have to come up with to excuse their kid’s behavior more creative.
I think the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Texas are doing their publicity all wrong. First, they need to object to people calling them a polygamist group. Even if it true, it has a negative connotation. They should asked to be referred by their group’s full name. Second, they should not have the quietest, mousiest woman in the group be the speaker when they are interviewed. Third, they should rehearse the answers to their questions, as they seem to get the same question over and over. “Why do you dress that way?” ” Are you happy?” “Why does your hair look like that?” I’m particularly annoyed by the questions and answers about appearance. They should talk to other conservative religious groups who don’t dress in modern fashions, learn from them. I heard a reporter ask these to one of the women, who promptly said “cause we like it”. How about, “We believe in dressing modestly and to be humble to God” or something like that? That’s believable. Maybe I should offer to be their PR person. My rates are cheap!
I may be the only person sad that jury duty was canceled. I was excited, then kinda nervous, then annoyed that I had to block off two days to go to court. Now I don’t have to go and I wish I could. Weird.
When I learn something new, like a five year old, I have to share it! Don’t ask me about my new audio book Bonk: The Curious Coupling of Science and Sex by Mary Roach. I have trivia that will make you hurt. I love science.
Funny to me note-many of you know I’m a creative speller (aka bad speller). If you type Boink instead of Bonk in Amazon.com, you will get a list of books with covers you may not want people to see on your office computer ![]()
