I rented Sweeney Todd last night. It wasn’t quite what I expected. It’s a Tim Burton film, so you know it looked cool. I loved the special effects. I wasn’t all that into the music though. I’m a big fan of musicals so I expected to like it and sadly didn’t. Helena Bonham Carter was a lead character and I wasn’t impressed by her singing. I had a hard time understanding what she sang, her voice seemed really soft to me. It was really bloody! I should have expected that as Sweeney Todd is the Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Even though it looked cool, I wouldn’t recommend it.
